New little advertiser icon

Hey Peeps!!

I'm just dropping in to say I added a new advertiser spot over on the right.  It's call Jamberry nails and  I received a sheet to try out so I'll be testing and blogging about those soon but if you've heard of them and are dying to try them out then click on the link on my page and my sweet friend Kelleigh will hook you up!  If you haven't heard of them just go over and browse all the wonderful designs to choose from and how to apply them to your nails. Easy Peasy!!  It's a good thing they are buy 3 get 1 free, it's so hard to choose!

I stole a few photos from her personal Facebook page so you could see a couple of examples in case you weren't familiar.

Have you tried them yet? What do you think?  I think they are so cute and can't wait to test them out!!   Stay tuned for more updates and information on this cool new product.

P.S. I am not receiving any party credits or anything like that for the ad spot I'm just trying to help a sista out with her new business venture. We gals gotta stick together you know. (She doesn't even know yet that I added her link or stole her FB photos-heehee)
P.P.S.  If you have a home based business and would like me to pop a little ad over in the sidebar for you just shoot me an email and I'm happy to add one for you!!

March Madness part 3

Hi Dee Ho Peeps!!!

I'm still ALIVE!!!  And yes, we are still moving.  I just wanted to pop in and tell you that I'm alive and give you a sneak peak at where we are and the very very very slow  progress we're making.  So much to do but it'll get there it just takes time.  I only wish I'd had time to paint before we moved in but now I'll have to get the rooms set up then start breaking them down 1 at a time and paint that way.  I am sure I'll be done by this time next year.  hahahahahahahaha  (so not kidding, I only hope I'm done this time next year!).

So here's a recap if you need to catch up:
March Madness part 1
March Madness part 2
March Madness part 2.5

Ok, now that we are all on the same page I'm going to give you a few views of "Wayne's World".  Mostly from the outside as the inside is big ole' M E double S mess.  Oh and for the sake of time savings, please excuse the unedited photos.   It's a darn miracle we even have pictures because we lost the camera for an entire week.  I mean we searched high and low and peeked in every unopened box and could not find it!!  Just about time for panic to set in because you know we have a very important graduation coming up in a few weeks, Hubster swears that he saw the camera somewhere in his closet. And lo and behold he was correct....in a box of ammo clips!!!  Seriously it's a miracle we found it.  Anywho, you get unedited pictures today because well that's all this girls got time for.

Pulling up to the front of the house
(see my ferns are even on the ground)

This is the "outhouse" as Hubster calls it.  We really gotta call it something else!!
This is a separate bedroom, full bath and large walk in closet with a little kitchenette area.
Also a nice big oversized 1 car garage that is currently packed to the gills with stuff that needs to go in the attic.

This is my view as I cross under the portico and turn left into the 2 car garage.
Trees people!!! We have TONS OF TREES!!!

This is the front of the "outhouse". Seriously, can you guys help us decide what to call this???
The rose bushes are gorgeous this spring, especially since they were neglected all winter as this house has been unoccupied since last year essentially.

This is to the left of the driveway in the front yard.
MORE TREES!!!   We have so much landscaping work to do.  It gets overwhelming when you stop to think about it, so I try to just look at the blooming pretty parts and ignore the work.

Moving out to the back yard.  This is right as you walk out the back patio doors.
(notice, there isn't another house back there??!!)

If you swing to the left a bit then we have a covered grilling area.
(yes, we do have neighbors over there and they are super sweet folks!!)
Especially nice to meet them and know the days he works from home since the copperhead snakes are a plenty around here right now.  He already knows if he hears me screaming like a crazy woman what's happening and to come running with the hoe!!

Just another look at the back yard.  This is just the fenced in part.  We've had big deer waltzing up to the fence.  Maybe since we found the camera we can finally get some pictures!

Turning around from the grill area you can see a small portion of the back porch.  One of the things I loved about this house is the extensive amount of covered porch areas.  This will be really really nice when we get that pool put in next spring....right honey??!!!

Now some quick fun fact about our new property that is known as Wayne's World:

1) The trumpet player of Earth, Wind & Fire was the former owner of the house.  You do NOT even want to know the amount of excitement this brings to Hubsters life.  He is a HUGE Earth, Wind & Fire fan and he's tickled to death that we now have BB's house.
2) We have a roof full of solar panels.  I mean seriously a roof line full of them.  If you want to know Hubster can tell you EXACTLY how much solar power we are producing on an hourly basis.  He's obsessed but you know if he's happy when the bills come in then I'm happy.  We don't store our excess power, it goes back to the grid then the power company credits us for what we don't use in case you wondered.  Hubsters equally excited over this as well.
3) We have approximately 1.7 acres of land.  That's a lot of mowing.  I haven't managed to get a new sofa yet but we did get a big ole' riding mower.  I'm just hoping I get to ride it too occasionally but maybe after the snakes are gone...blek!!  Otherwise I'll just drive willy nilly all over the yard trying to run over and chop up as many as I can.  :-)
4) Oddly enough we are about 300-400 square feet smaller than our big house however I now have 6 bathrooms to clean. Yeah, you heard me 6 freaking bathrooms!!!    Each of the 4 bedrooms has its own bath and then we have 2 half baths.   We no longer have a media room or game room.  I don't think we're really going to miss them at all.  I cleaned the bathrooms this morning and it only took me 30 minutes to do all 5 (the 6th is out in the "outhouse" and we aren't doing anything but storing stuff that needs to find a home right now).
5) I went to the grocery Friday for the first time in over a month.  I have NEVER spent that much money at the grocery at one time. Seriously it was re-donk-u-lous!  On the bright side I found the most epic Wally World in the history of Wally Worlds.  I mean seriously you need to know that I swore off even going to that place, the new one by our house is above awesome.  Three different employees actually offered to help me in some way in the store, from picking out produce, telling me the best times to shop, helping me push my cart that was so overflowing that I was also carrying items in my hands to helping me to the car.  It was so nice!  There's hope for this world yet peeps!

That's all we got for now peeps, hopefully in the next few days we'll be ready to show you a few inside photos!

Hang with me, we're gonna be cooking again soon but for right now we're just making the usual easy kind of stuff that we've made a million times before.

March Madness part 2.5

Hey Peeps!!!

I'm bruised, exhausted and trying not to think about the fact that we are about to do this all over again in a few weeks.

I figured an update on the shenanigans of the household were in order and since I have 3 guys digging up my front yard at the moment it seemed like the perfect opportunity to do just that.

So Last Thursday we said our final goodbye to this place.

We closed at 1 on Thursday and I'd like to tell you that I was happy but I was so bittersweet.  I cried all the way to the rent house.  Yes it was "just a house" but it was mine and Hubsters first house together, where our families combined and so many great memories were made.  We had lots of crazy fun parties,  study sessions involving pizza and Doritos and Dr. Pepper, lots of movie marathons, a bridal shower, more than a few birthday celebrations and football watching  and  most of all family and friends staying with us.  The house was big and could handle our crazy life and our love of being surrounded by our friends and family every chance we could grab.  Yes, the house holds so many wonderful memories and I hope that it sees tenfold more with the new owners.  Some advice I'm giving and trying to remember myself, ENJOY your house.  Open it to friends and family, they don't care if you haven't vacuumed today they only care that you made them feel welcome.  My house is not a model or a replica of a magazine,  it's a home where the best decorations are the people who come to visit and be licked by a crazy dog!

So enough with the sappiness and let's move on to the rental house.  I showed you guys the photos from the MLS listing.  If you missed them just click here and now I'll show you the chaos that it has become.  First thing you need to know, the big house was 3900+ sq. feet and we are temporarily living in 2103 sq. feet.  Soooo essentially we are living in half the house we used to.  Thank goodness for self storage units!!

That my friends is a Diet Coke explosion and it was the second one we had in the refrigerator.  So along with moving, I got to clean that mess up not once but twice.   Our refrigerator thinks we need to keep things SUPER cold.

We ate fast food for like 2 or 3 weeks straight while painting and packing and moving.  I made home made chicken salad and seriously, it was like the best meal ever!

The nice thing about moving is you find things that have been missing for like 3 years, like car keys.  Yep, found those suckers behind a chest in Aboggs closet and no lie, we've searched high and low for those things for 3 stinking years!  It even has a Starbies card on it with money still in the account...SCORE!

I had an email on Friday that I had a FedEx package to be delivered at the big house so I jumped on the phone and called Fed Ex and asked them to hold that puppy at the distribution center because it was from Southern Living and I did NOT want to miss out on that!!

We picked it up on Saturday morning while we were out doing some errands or something other than pack boxes and move.  It was a happy box to open!!!!

What could it be?

Just getting this out of the box was a chore and I was so excited to dig in, it was stuffed to the gills!

WOW!!! This is the most awesome thing!!  It was stuffed full of all kinds of crazy good stuff and I'm gonna just bore you to death with the goodie list!!  (I've included links when I could)

Special Edition magazines by Southern Living:  Chicken Recipes, Style Guides & Gardening
Southern Living Gardening Gloves
Southern Living Reusable Grocery Tote
$50 Visa Gift Card
Southern Living Tervis Tumbler  (similar)
Southern Living Notepad
$10 Starbucks gift cards

Southern Living Koozies
4 tickets to the Idea House In Palmetto Bluff, SC
(opens in June 2014)

SERIOUSLY!!!  Is this not the best!!  All because I shared photos like this a LOT on instagram and twitter during the Southern Living Almased trial I participated in.

So thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my little Southern Heart for my goodies!!!   I've loved Southern Living and subscribed to the magazine since my mid twenties so needless to say I'm thrilled beyond words!

Now back to chaos....

In a sea of chaos just make your bed.  It'll make you feel a bit better.  I mean really I had not completely made my bed in 3 weeks.  So even though we are minimally unpacking around here I dug out the throw pillows and everything and just made that bed right up and pretended the rest of the room didn't look like this:

Yep, same room different view.  :-)  Keeping it real!!
Oh and the beauty in the front, she's my new vacuum cleaner because you know our Dyson just decided to DIE in the middle of cleaning out the big house.  So we got to go vacuum cleaner shopping on Saturday too!

Here she is from above, I love her she's a Miele and it is the Marin model so I'm just calling her Mary.   Mary is the bomb and if you are in the market for a vacuum and live in DFW I HIGHLY recommend you go visit Abraham at Evans Vacuum Cleaner, Co.  You tell him all about your floors, your preferences, your house, your lifestyle and he'll get you fixed up with the best vacuum cleaner for you!   I honestly cannot say enough about how great he was to work with and how happy I am with my new vacuum.

This is Lilli, she's been VERY VERY bad since we moved into the house.  She's been peeing and pooing on Alex's bed and then last night she and the fat dog got in a fight.  Ow cha mama!!!  Never a dull moment.

NOW for the 2.5 update!!   You may have noticed I've mentioned a few times that we aren't unpacking and I've been keeping it quiet to let things settle out and make sure we were actually going to get it but WE BOUGHT ANOTHER HOUSE!!!

The rental house sold in 24 hours and we should be closing next week on it soooooo we'll be moving to this pretty soon!

Yep, we finally found our next "perfect for us" house.    You'll be getting lots of peeks and looks soon but briefly it's on 1.7 acres, 4 bedrooms and 4 full baths plus 2 half baths and a smidgen bit smaller than the last big house.  Hubster is still toying with his name of the house: 1) Wayne Manor (his middle name and a nod to Batman) or 2) Wayne's World.   Wayne's World is probably a better description of our lifestyle that is for sure!  We're super excited and ready to get moved and unpacked and settled in for many years to come!!!  So even though it's no longer March we'll keep going with March Madness and you can see what we'll be doing with this place!

I leave you with this thought:  If you are thinking about selling your house, renovating another house, sell it and then buy a house, it's best if you not do that during tax season!   mercy....I can't decide which crisis or crucial item on my to do list gets done first.  With that I'm off to deliver the taxes to the FedEx office for the accountant, return the Verizon boxes and make a donation at the animal shelter of tons of old bath towels.

Take care my peeps and stay tuned!!!!

Peace, Love & Bruises
