Ripple Street: Robert Monday Private Selection Chardonnay

Hey Wine loving peeps!!

This past weekend I had the wonderful joy of tasting 3 fantastic chardonnays from Robert Mondavi Private Selection.  I won this package from Ripple Street and let's show you what we got!

This is the package right after I opened the box.

Honestly, I was confused as to why they would send 3 glasses.  DUH, Samma, 3 wines, 3 glasses.

Anyway, these are cute little plastic glasses and they'll be great around the pool this summer.

Kind of a fun little extra, some sunglasses.  They have Robert Mondavi on the side.

Robert Mondavi Private Selection embossed wine chiller

This was kind of cool, I don't have one like this.  

Pics of the final 2 bottles in the trunk of my car.  I had to go to 3 places before I found all 3 varieties I needed to taste.

The first one we tried was the Butter Chardonnay.  

It was my least favorite of the 3 but my friends really enjoyed it. 

Our tasting notes for this one:

Aroma: Oak

Appearance: light golden

Taste: Oak with allspice and a hint of butter

Finish:  brown spice finish 

There was also a bit of vanilla but it was harder to pick out.

Bottle number 2 was the 100% Chardonnay.

This one fell right in the middle as our 2nd choice.

Tasting notes for 100% Chardonnay

Aroma:  green apple

Appearance: light golden

Taste:  citrus & peach

Finish: Green apple

I wavered back and forth over this being my favorite.  The green apple was a nice surprise and quite refreshing!

Next up was the Classic Chardonnay

Tasting notes:

Aroma: pear

Appearance: pale gold

Taste: light apple and pear

Finish: pineapple

In the end, this one ended up being my favorite.  

Clean, crisp and perfect summer sip.

This was really fun and tasty.  Mondavi has been a tried and true trusted brand in the wine world and I was happy to add a couple of new summer sips to my list.   Next time you need to fill the wine bucket give one of these a try!
