Hope you are all having a wonderful week so far!! Let's catch up!
Let's hop back to last Monday,
Wanted to show the quick dinner we had. Had some preseaoned pork chops from the H-E-B in the freezer so we grilled those up lickety-split. I also had a bag of the frozen potatoes/peppers from Trader Joe's. I keep a bag in the freezer for occasions such as this. I usually do them in the oven but I pan fried them in an iron skillet while the grill heated up and the pork chops cooked. The bread was the second loaf from our neighbors trip to Costco, so you know it's delish.
#1-Tuesday the 24th- Navy blue shorts, you've seen the black version of these. Walmart shorts, these are a small, if I pick up another pair I will definitely go down a size, these run a little large. The Boston Red Sox shirt is old and was a gift from the Merbear and the Reygun on one of their trips. We all love visiting Boston!
#2- Thursday the 26th- I had to take poor Amy Winehouse to the dealership. She kept losing air in her front tire, stupid road construction! Anywho, nice chance to wear my favorite shorts from my Nuuly rental. Ya'll these shorts!!! No wonder people rave over Mother jeans. These are the skipper shorts from Mother denim. These are a 27, I'm going to re-rent them next month in a 26, they don't bag out much when wearing but these are pretty loose. Also, I'm pretty sure I want to buy these so I can rent them a 3rd time in the size I prefer, they are still a bit pricey for shorts. The Fleetwood Mac shirt is another old Daydreamer shirt that I love.
#3- a close up of the stripes on the shorts in pic two. Ya'll these shorts....I'm smitten but I need them to be less expensive. Even with the discount, it's not cheap!
This is not my picture but it is what we had for dinner Wednesday evening. It's another Hello Fresh goodie, Za'atar Steak Pita Pockets. We were both a big fan of this one and it cooked up quick!
Thursday evening was another Hello Fresh meal and this one was Shawarma-Spiced Beef & Rice bowls. This one was another delicious meal although it made a bigger mess when cooking. HelloFresh was not letting us down this week.
#1- Friday and we are back to the car lot. The morning started out warm and I had on my cute little Pilcro
top from my rental packet. It's cute but has been loved a lot but the sales price is too good to pass up so I will probably end up keeping it. The shorts are another Nuuly rental and are from Pistola. I'm going to have a hard time sending these back too. They were the perfect length, it's possible I will rent these again. These are a 27 and I'd say they run true to size. The sandals are very old Sam Edelman, that's a poshmark link to see a close up of the shoe.
#2- Well, before I could get out of the house to go to the dealership to get my Amy Winehouse outta rehab 😂 (she had to have that tire replaced-stupid construction) it turned chilly. Like I mean really chilly so I had to change my clothes before I could leave the house. So, last chance to wear the britches in my Nuuly rental. These are the Jenna mid-rise from Pilcro. These are a small and they are wayyyyy too big. I definitely need an XS in these. They were super comfy and I'd consider renting these again in the correct size. Side note: these pants still had the original price tags on them so I was the first to rent this pair. The sweater is from Varley and I picked it up last year from Nordstrom. I am wearing the XS in this one. The shoes are from Target, a new day is the brand but I got them last fall so they are no longer available. I did take my usual size 8 in them.
#3- Saturday, the 28th- a chilly day so I whipped out this caslon shirt from Nordstrom last year. I paired it with my Kut from the Kloth jeans. The jeans are a 2 which is my usual Kut size. They are supposed to be ankle flare but I'm vertically challenged so they are full length on me. I did put shoes on before heading out to have pizza that night.
I never really talk about my Young Living orders any more but I grabbed these items for an extra shipment this month. I've been on the Loyalty orders program for so long (127 months to be exact) that I get 25% back into my account on every order. I always let my balance build up then when I need household items, I order and only pay shipping. This order consisted of my ever beloved Thieves Household Cleaner. I use this on everything and a little capful goes a long way. The other item in the back is Thieves Laundry detergent. Another of those, a little goes a long way. These are both super clean plant based products that work amazingly well.
In the front we have Endoflex, I roll this onto my thyroid every morning after my shower. It's an excellent support oil for your thyroid. The supplement you see is Femigen. I take this product every morning. This is what I can legally say about this product: It supports women during transitionary periods (e.g. menopause), it helps maintain hormonal balance and supports the female reproductive system. It has been in my daily supplement drawer since my hysterectomy. I wouldn't order these items if they didn't support my health. You can always message me for more details.
Let's move on to Sunday, picture 1 & 2
#1- I grabbed these white denim Pistola shorts from my Nuuly rental. I hadn't worn them yet and my bag has to be returned this week. These were not my favorite, they gave me a wedgie all day and the rise was way too high for me. The denim is nice and not see through so if you can do a high rise denim then you might like these. I had my usual 27 on and I'd say they are true to size. The shirt is an old Southern Tide from eons ago. It's kinda big but I have the ends tucked into my bra so I get the cropped look but not so my belly shows.
#2- We were headed to Costco so I threw on an old Vineyard Vines ¼ zip. It's too big but this thing is so comfortable and it's the perfect weight. It generally always makes it on a beach trip too.
#3-Monday, the 30th- As you can see our little chilly spell lasted only 2 days and I grabbed those Mother
shorts again. This time I grabbed my old Nirvana t-shirt from Hot Topic. I always say, if you want a band t-shirt, start your search at Hot Topic. They have the best shirts. I also had to leave the house to mail out tax preparations to our CPA in Louisiana. And yes, I prayed to tax gods the whole way. I'm just going to put this out there, if you see some video of a crazy lady in the parking lot of Albertsons with a buggy that the wheels locked because she parked too far away- it is in fact me! Oh my word, that was the most humiliating, humbling, and intensely hilarious event. I have a bruise on my shin but I finally got that thing out of the middle of the lane. Someone, somewhere saw the whole thing and I hope I made you forget your troubles for a few minutes. Also, some random dude with a Russian accent tried to get me to put my groceries and myself in his car to drive them to my car. No thank you sir, I've read way too many books that start out with help from a kind stranger and did not end well. Besides, who wants to be kidnapped with only dinner ingredients for a steak dinner and taco night. There were no snacks, can't be kidnapped with no snacks for Pete's sake!
Now let's get to dinner last night. Hubster really wanted a steak on Sunday but we never got our shizzle together so part of said grocery event had me picking up dinner ingredients. There's no Hello Fresh this week, I find it a little sad.
We had some steak, salad and a baked potato.
Now, I don't normally put A-1 sauce on a good steak so that should tell you that this was only a mediocre steak at best. Hubster was happy and that's all that really matters.
Also, that salad came from my garden. Well, the greens did! I was out this morning and I swear I am going to have to harvest again this week. We'll get a few more weeks out of the lettuces before it gets too warm. The okra will go in those beds eventually.
Now, let's move on to today and wrap the wrap up up.
#1-Remember how I told you about the Joyspun pajamas from Wallyworld? These are from last year and there isn't wear of any kind showing. I wear these in the summer at least once a week, they get washed and dried and they are so amazingly soft. These are a small and that's my typical size in these. You notice, they also have pockets. These pajamas are the real deal and all for under $17.
#2- today, the 31st, we've got another repeat going in the skort from Target, last year and the t-shirt is VERY old. We went many years ago to Washington D.C. as part of our spring break trip. If you go, the Spy Museum should be on your list. Of course we did all the Smithsonian museums but this one was so much fun, very interactive and filled with fun exhibits.
And now, I leave you with a quick video of our Master bathroom. We are approaching the beginning date from one year ago and I wanted to do a quick video to show you how the bath is looking after almost a year. I'm going to go back and do some kitchen ones too.
I also should probably grab a quick video of the finished powder bath too. Maybe next time I clean I'll remember. haha
We're having Taco's tonight for dinner so Hubster will be super stoked!
Keep on being kind, being well and remember to be grateful for something today.
Peace, Love, & grocery carts
Samma
