Tryazon: Taste Republic Gluten-Free Pasta

Hey Peeps!!!

I'm back with a Tryazon sampling!

I was lucky enough to be selected for this Tryazon sampling and anxiously awaited my package.

A letter outlining my responsibilities, coupons for 2 bags of the product, and a couple of Taste Republic Stickers.

As we all know, it's a bit crazy around here and I had to go to a couple of different Target stores to find the products but I succeeded.

Brought them home and tucked them away in the freezer.  Yep, you heard me the freezer.  How's that for pasta night in a pinch!  And did I mention, they're gluten-free too!

I selected Spinach & Cheese Tortelloni and Four Cheese Ravolini.
My other choices were Egg Noodles, Four Cheese Tortelloni, and Cauliflower penne.

If you are a regular reader (aka: rockstar) of this ole' blog then you know we are in the thick of a major kitchen renovation and quick dinners are my jam right now!

We needed dinner in a pinch tonight so I took the trusty electric skillet to the back porch and started boiling some water.  First up is the Four Cheese Raviolini.

Let's grab that bag and dump those babies in the water.

There they are bubbling away for 3 minutes. Yep, you read that right for 3 minutes!

Three minutes are up, just lift those out to drain, and let's get that water boiling again.

Grab that bag of spinach & cheese tortelloni and dump them in the boiling water.

Same as before, they're gonna need to bubble around for 3 minutes.

When those three minutes are up, lift up and strain off the water.

Hopefully, before you started you made yourself a nice big, beautiful salad.

And found a nice jar of homemade spaghetti sauce in the freezer that you unthawed and warmed it up because if you did, you've got a quick, easy, and delicious dinner.

Load up your plate and head out back on the patio and enjoy dinner!

We enjoyed the pasta, it was certainly quick to come together and if you have a functioning kitchen, it'd be even faster!

The taste was good, not what one would expect from gluten-free pasta.   As a matter of fact, I didn't even mention it was gluten-free until after we'd finished eating.  Hubster and neighbor Roberto couldn't even tell.   The only suggestion we all had was that maybe the raviolini could use a bit more cheese.  They were pretty small but the tortelloni was excellent.

I'd like to thank Tryazon and Taste Republic for the opportunity to sample these pastas in exchange for my honest opinion.    Grab some at your local store today, toss them in the freezer, and be ready the next time you need dinner in a flash.

Another brick in the Floor

Hi Dee Ho Peeps!!

I haven't updated you because our poor floor guy, Francisco, is still working on those floors.   I mean, they are perfect but he is not Speedy Gonzales.   Don't get me wrong, we are not complaining, nope not one bit.  Now the next owners of this house, they will sure as shootin' be cussin' us because these floors ain't going nowhere!

Let's grab a hodge podge of photos in zero particular order or sense!

Backing all the way up to last Friday!

This was how the den floor looked last Friday.  It's coming along, slowly but surely!

These bricks are on a mesh piece but sometimes Francisco pulls them up and straightens them.

He's now working his way across to the garage entry area.

Friday evening dinner:  We headed out with some neighbors over to our local pizza place, Tony's Pizza & Pour House

This was Saturday morning before any workers arrived, and yes, they have literally worked every Saturday since this project started.  But this girl had to get out of the house so I headed over to a local nursery and picked up some hanging baskets and other flowers that I needed to get.

Some pre-cooked chicken breasts and salad along with focaccia bread was dinner on the patio.

Sunday evening we grilled burgers and had some beans and salad.  I didn't grab a pic because we'd worked in the yard all day and were famished.

While I was out doodling in the yard on Sunday I grabbed a couple of photos of the flowers.
I don't know what color these gladiolas are but man are they gorgeous!!

I'm apparently growing a HollyHock privacy hedge.

You can debate me all you want but flowers in your garden make all the difference!
And yes, I did get the weeding done around the raised beds after I took these pics.

Monday, after a disappointing conversation with Hector these beauties arrived.  Some belated Mother's Day flowers from my Abogg and sweet AprilMayJune.  His visit was gift enough but man, I needed these today.  Turned my attitude right around!  Flowers will do that you know!

Then I decided to whip out the electric skillet and make Hubster some breakfast sandwiches.

Fried up those eggs and the Canadian bacon.

Sandwiched them all together with some cheese on English muffins and he's all set for the week.

I wrapped them up in a foil sheet and tossed them in a big bowl, cause you know I have to walk out the front door and around the house to the garage to get to the refrigerator.  😜

Monday evening we had this progress!!!

The laundry room is all done too!!!

Tuesday morning I had a small little garden harvest.  I'm drying the oregano in the garage because it's out of control.   The deer are quite enjoying all our blackberries but they saved us a few.  And that plum....oh my gosh, it was soooo tasty!

I also had a squash, jalapenos, more blackberries and green beans.  Reggie snacked on the few green peas the squirrels left us and the straggler asparagus stalk or two.

Laundry Room on Monday afternoon.

Garage entry as of Tuesday afternoon.
Not a brick out of line and people, it's hot here in Texas!
It was 87 degrees on this side of the house.
I'm standing in the laundry room and looking toward the garage entry area.

The floors got covered before the painter did the ceilings.  Thank goodness..someone FINALLY read that painters manual.

The den area over by the dry bar area.

They got the first coat of paint on in the dry bar.

We're definitely gonna need a lamp in here!
The bar shelves will have LED track lighting around them too.

Inching towards the island, little by little.

Let's take a break and talk dinner.
Monday evening our neighbors called and wanted to try a new restaurant, Tricky Fish
It was excellent, definitely one to keep in mind for a return visit.

Tuesday evening we had dinner at home; a lovely evening of Chicken sandwiches and potato salad.
Nothing fancy but it was pretty tasty.

Wednesday everning I had some things thawed out for dinner but some other neighbors called and had a coupon for Mama's Pizza so we pivoted and had pizza.

Didn't even use plates, just grabbed napkins and the pizza and moved to the back porch.

Wednesday evening and the pantry is almost finished.

Looking at the sink side of the island!

Den area is done and the plastic is still down to protect what's been completed.
We still have to seal the floors so no chances are being taken of paint on those bricks.

You can also see that Wednesday saw baseboards getting reinstalled.

Even without them being finished it's looking so good!

I was outside today and this wooly booger was hanging out in the Hollyhocks by the pool.
Do you guys have these where you are?  We are being overrun with them this year!

If you follow me on Instagram you'll recognize this photo, my Trumpet Vine is attempting world domination over here.   This pic is after I put that sad little arch together and tried to get some of the vines to cover that and then I thinned the vines out a ton.  I don't know how I didn't get stung because there were so many bees and wasps over in that.  Of course, it's there for those beautiful little pollinators!!

Diner tonight included this lovely salad.
The green been pieces, banana peppers, cucumbers all came from the garden!
The tomatoes didn't because we've had one beautiful Cherokee purple tomato ripen and Hubster and I ate it!  Oh yes we did and it was yummy!

We had some Taste Republic pasta that we needed to sample for a Tryazon post.  I'll be working on that later this evening.  It's due tonight, nothing like waiting to last minute! haha

Whew....and now you are all caught up!
The construction crews are working every day this holiday weekend so you'll find Hubster and I doing yard work and lounging by the pool.  Bring beer 🍻and pizza 🍕and join us!
And no, I'm never sick of eating pizza!

Gratitiude time!
1) The rain (we've had an abundance)
2) Pool weather has officially commenced
3) Pizza
4) The light at the end of the tunnel
5) Wine..because we're close to being 2 weeks behind schedule.

See ya next week Peeps & have a wonderful Memorial Day!

Peace, Love & Pizza
