Hey Peeps!!
Happy TuTuTuesday!!! Remember when I used to regularly post and Tuesday's were TuTu Tuesday?
Yeah, good times when I hadn't entered menopause and could remember what I walked in a room for.
On with the show!
Let's hop back to last Wednesday and another day where I had no where to be and more to do than I was interested in completing.
Zelle skort(old Nordstrom); Universal Thread (s) shirt
Cute Rouxby Sue sleeping under my jeans in the closet- her summer spot.
That skort is several years old, from Nordstrom's Zelle brand. The t-shirt is from Target last summer. Those t-shirts will be $8 or $10, they wash and dry perfectly.
I managed to eat three meals last Wednesday AND take pictures. All of those things are rare occurrences.
This is the epitome of balance my friends. Greek yogurt with frozen blueberries and Fruity Pebbles.
It's so yummy, I actually had it again this morning.
For lunch I had this:
Fresh from the garden tomato sandwich. I will not be hearing any discussion regarding this sandwich, it's perfect, the end! If you don't agree, you're wrong.
A little backstory for this next picture. The chalkboard you are about to see lived in our old house, that we moved from in 2014. It hung in the kitchen and just like now, it has the menu for the week listed on it. Used to we had 3 kiddos plus Hubster who were always asking what's for dinner so I started putting the menu on the board. The board now hangs in the pantry and even though the kiddos had the audacity to grow up and move out, we still use that board. It hangs in our pantry. Sometimes Hubster takes it upon himself to fill in the blanks.
Since we're working on Wednesday, you can see that we did in fact have Ooni oven pizza.
The top pizza is mine and the bottom is Hubsters. Yummy as always!
The fence guy was on sight bright and early and it's hot so I must have taken this picture mid-morning after getting dressed and about to take Rouxby Sue on her little walk.
Notice the arrow pointing to little Rouxby Sue's feet sticking out. She loves to lay under that section of clothing.
She looks like she's in time-out. 🤣
You know if everyone loved everyone the way Rouxby Sue loves Lambchop, this world would be amazing!!
Now it's time for dinner:
This was the last bag of this that I had hoarded in my freezer. I used to order these from Daily Harvest but they stopped carrying it. So sad, because it was yummy!
Anywho, I got this going in a pan on the stove.
And while the rice was cooking I browned up a pack of ground beef, added the taco seasoning and a can of Ro-Tel tomatoes.
Then it's time to assemble the bowls: First the rice mixture, then the meat mixture, then a little guacamole, Trader Joe's spicy taco sauce and finish it off with some cotija cheese and chili lime tortilla chips. Man, this was yummooooooo!!! Also, the TJ"s taco sauce isn't spicy, just saying.
Apparently Friday I was on auto-pilot. No outfit pic and the neighbors came over to have a couple of adult beverages and we ended up ordering Domino's. If you are keeping score, that's the 2nd pizza night this week.
Saturday, we did some work around the house then it was pool time since the fence workers didn't work the weekend.
Yes, that's my little Rouxby Sue and yes, she's in the less than 10% of bulldogs that can swim. She's a little water bug, we can't keep her out of the pool but at least we can rest (a tiny bit) easier knowing she can actually swim if she falls in. Her brother thinks the pool is his personal drinking bowl and has zero interest in being in the water even though he's an excellent swimmer.
Somebody (me!) had zero plans for dinner so we got cleaned up and went out in search of food.
We ended up in the stockyards amongst the soccer fans and I felt very under dressed. haha. But let's talk about clothes for a minute, shall we?
Shorts: Sanctuary Renegade (26) Mine came from Evereve last summer
Shoes: Rothy's daily driver These are a couple of years old and not available in the fuschia color but they are oh, so comfy! I take my usual size 8 in these.
Shirt: Maeve's Mabel boxy Oxford (s). This is from my Nuuly rental box for June. It's a great shirt but it's still too pricey so it'll go back at the end of the month.
We ended up at Chef Tim Love's Barbecue & Oyster Bar in the Stockyards. I got no photos but geez it was good! Starting off Hubster had a regular Old-fashioned and the bartender made me a REAL Whiskey Sour, egg whites and all. Superb!
Then we ordered the Spectacular queso and the Smoked Brisket Enchiladas to share. The queso was indeed spectacular, but not quite as good as the one we had Mother's Day at Palermo Suerte. Chef Tim Love also owns that restaurant and it's just around the corner from this one in the Stockyards. Now those Brisket Enchiladas....FIRE!!! Oh my gosh, so good.
Hubster and I were talking about how expensive it is to eat out now and it's more palatable when you leave and go, wow, that was really good even if it was a little pricey. Chef Tim Love has not let us down in the past few weeks, the food has been incredible from both places!
Ok, Sunday morning was cloudy and a little cooler so I bribed the Hubster into helping me in the garden for a bit. We initially said we were working for 30 minutes then quitting but we managed a little over an hour and between the two of us, got that garden weeded and the plants cleaned up and a nice little harvest.
Then it was pool time again but it was still cloudy so we got out, cleaned up and ran to pick up some peat moss for the yard and stopped in Aldi for a few items.
And in no surprise, Sunday evening we had pizza for a total of 3 times this week! haha
My love for pizza knows no end. First up we started with some fried ravioli that we air fried in the oven then added some jarred marinara. These were good, just a little skimpy on the cheese in the middle
Then we had grabbed two frozen pizza's from Aldi. One was a Mediterranean style flatbread pizza and the other was a Supreme Bloody Mary. That one had chicken on it so I just plucked those off.
We just baked these in the oven since it was already warm from using the Air Fryer.Other than the chicken, the Bloody Mary one was our favorite, surprisingly. The Mediterranean had a weird flavor that we could never identify. We'll probably never buy these again but hey, we tried something new.
Now, let's start the new week and our fence guy was back after the rain moved out Monday morning so I must have worn nothing worth photographing because my camera roll ends with the pizza pics.
Monday night for dinner, we had big salads. Hubster had chicken on his but I had just a plain salad. I had to make the dogs food toppers and get their food ready for the next week so I didn't have that to worry about this weekend while we are spending time with the girls and eating all the fun things!
The fence guy was here before 8 am today, I think that poor guy is really tired of our fence but he's doing such a good job. I got dressed because I had to run to the bank to drop off the first check from the insurance company so we can pay the roofer next week when he gets started.
It was hair washing day and I should mention, it's a little TMI, that I have been feeling like I have a UTI coming on and I am sooooo stinking bloated. I've been doubling down on the water but man, I'm ready for this to move on. (I'm takin on OTC meds right now, supplementing with K&B from Young Living. Normally this takes care of the issue but if I'm not better by Wednesday, I'll have to go to Care Now) grrrr
That's all for now, in the way of food and clothing so let's wrap up the week and get busy.
Watching: We're still sticking with Dutton Ranch but this past weekend was soccer....because it's the World Cup and while I'm not a soccer fan nor do I understand it, how can you not watch?!. Also, the social media of the fans from all over the world being in America is the greatest thing ever!
Also, House of Dragons season 3 this Sunday night!!! I probably won't watch until Monday evening after the girls have headed back home so no spoilers!!
Reading: I finished the Marsh Mystics book I was reading and have now started on a John Grisham book.
In case you wondered.....I am STILL listening to The Goldfinch. I still have 12 hours and 17 minutes left and I've already listened to 20 hours and 7 minutes so at least I've heard about 62% of the book. I may finish by Christmas.
That's all for now Peeps
Peace, Love, & Pulitzer Prizes
