Tumbled Wacky Fun Thursday

Hey there Peepers!!!
I know I know I promised that I would get the Tuesday post up yesterday but listen folks....I seriously HAVE to get this Christmas shopping done.   Man for some reason I just let the holiday slip up on me.  I mean I've been going through the motions but not getting much accomplished and the worst part......I've baked NOTHING.  Here that, nothing, nada, zilch.  It's so unlike me.  I think part of the delay is that Court and Aus will be here on Friday and we'll have our Christmas with them on Saturday so I'm trying to get their stuff ready and figure out dinner Saturday night and then we are going to the football game on Sunday and then POOF it'll be Christmas Eve. What I've done with myself the past two weeks is totally beyond me!   Anywho I've got a Tousled Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday and a Friday Fun post all rolled into one for you.   And seriously....I have actual food recipes to post I just can't get a grip on my own routine/schedule!!

There's always hope for tomorrow I suppose but then again if the world ends tonight I guess there isn't tomorrow.  (hence the reason I added Friday Fun to the post- you never know!)   So here we go and let me tell you it's been way more busy than this post would elude to being.

#1--Sometimes you just need a cheery Christmas ice cream sundae for dinner.  Fortunately Blue Bell is providing the Christmas Cookie ice cream to do that with.

#2-- Here's a not so great picture of my tree this year.  Seriously I need to read all those pins on Pinterest about how to photograph your tree but I'm too lazy.  I'm honest if nothing else, right??

#3-- I seriously made these muffins back in September and have yet to do an oh so Pinteresting post on them so here's the link.  She has the recipe I used on her site and I just added a little oatmeal streusel topping to mine.  These are baked without flour and are super simple to whip up and get rid of those really ripe bananas plus they are yummy!  Winning!!

#4--I'm making this crazy stuff this weekend.   I drool every time I look at this picture.
Here's the site where I found this incredible luscious looking concoction.

#5-- These are also going to be made very soon!  Get thee in my mouth now!!!
Butterfinger Cheez-its.   Hmmm, Christmas shopping may have to wait I need to go to Walmart instead.

#6--   A sweet friend of mine from high school had the local news media join them at the mall when her princess granddaughter received  an amazing early Christmas gift!    Marine surprises Daughter
Enjoy your family Cindy and tell that son-in-law of yours that we gratefully thank him for his service to our country.

#7-- And finally this is another item that is topping the Christmas goodies to be made list.  Yep the Peanut Brittle.  And to show how behind I am on Christmas goodie making....this post was done on December 9th last year! Seriously I'm so far behind  <>.

So that's it for today folks and possibly forever (heehee).  So in the event the world does in fact end then I've left you with a post to remember me by because if it's the Rapture people I'm going onto the big kitchen in the sky!! If we're all still here tomorrow then I'll be back soon with my goodie baking posts and a few more Christmas items.

So tell me please, am I the only one that Christmas just snuck up on?  Are you behind on your baking?
Are you a better person than I and are prepped and ready?  If so, could you come over and help me?

Peace, Love & Mayans!!

Day of Silence, Tuesday Dec. 18th.

On Tuesday, December 18th, there will be a blogger day of silence, please take a moment today to pray for everyone connected to the tragedy in Newtown, CT.   After saying that special prayer give your husband or wife an extra hug, call your mama and daddy and hold those children (no matter how old they are) for an extra minute for tomorrow is promised to none of us.

Matthew 11:25-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Pray...it's all we can do

My friends please stop now and say a prayer to God, or whomever you believe is a higher deity, to wrap His loving arms around those families in Connecticut.   I have no words to explain my feelings for people I have no prior knowledge of.  These are small children and loving adults entrusted daily to teach and care for them.  Rage, confusion, pain, sadness are only a few of the emotions running through my mind. My mind does not fathom any aspect of this truly senseless tragedy.  I've stomped and screamed and sobbed with each bit of news as it unfolds but most importantly I continue to pray.

What can you do?  Pray, Pray and Pray again.  Please don't use this time to criticize our schools, government, laws, lack of laws, etc. At this time these people only need compassion, love and prayers.

Hug your children no matter their age, call your parents and be grateful for the lives God has given each us.

Tuesday Tumblings, Dec. 11th.

Well I can't say that I didn't warn you that I was going to take the time to enjoy my family and my holiday but I bet no one (not even myself) thought I would be enjoying it for this long!!

What can I say, I'm a party girl.
Anyway grab yourself a nice cup of coffee or tea and settle in for a picture laden synopsis of what's been happening around here!

I made homemade chicken and dumplin's one night.
You can go here and find the directions on how to make them.
Super EASY people super easy and pretty darn tasty to boot!!

This is just one of the many blooms on my Christmas Cactus.
How on earth do these things know when to bloom??  I mean it's crazy...one of those amazing God things.  I think it's just awesomesauce!

This is my Coca Cola Santa.....I had one when I was a wee little girl and I was heartbroken that no one knew what happened to him.  My sweet Mama found me another one.  Momma's are just good that way aren't they?!

Anyway he's on my Christmas bed.
(oh my Mama made those pillowcases too)
And in case you wondered the inspiration for changing out part of my bed linens is the fault of Pinterest
You can go right here and see where I got my inspiration.

I made a yummy breakfast burrito.
(riveting news of the day!)

I went down to Waco one evening so I could see this handsome guy get his ring.
I know....he's so very handsome isn't he?
I might be just a little bit prejudiced though.

This is a picture of the necklace I wore to the above mentioned event.
It's the Party Pearls Necklace from Coldwater Creek and they sent it to me for FREE!!!!
No kidding, I'm part of the Southern Living Reader Source panel and I filled out a survey and got chosen to receive to receive "A Major Award".  (quick name that holiday movie)
It's so pretty, I may just wear it around the house with my yoga pants!

I made a burlap and eyelet table runner for the kitchen table.
I should probably mention I using packing tape and hot glue and not a sewing machine.
details, details

This is the Hubster.  Yeah that's a 20 foot Santa in our yard.
It does make giving directions to our house pretty easy!

The Saturday after Thanksgiving we made a little trip over to Jerry World to see the Texas Tech and Baylor football game.

Baylor won!!!  Oh and that pretty little cheerleader was right in front of us and she happens to be an old friend of the family.

I was decorating the house one day and Batman showed up in my sons room to help.
No really seriously people, this kinda freaked me out. I mean just think you are home alone just working away and you look down to find this looking at you.  Yeah, I turned around R E A L slow.
It was a box, I was personally hoping for the George Clooney Batman.

I watched my favorite Christmas Cartoon.
This just happens to be at my mostest favoritest part too.
Linus telling the Christmas story, nothing like it.

I decorated a little tree in my kitchen with wine corks, burlap ribbon and nestled it into a wine box.
It's soooo cute but I think it needs a few more corks on it.  I guess I'll make the sacrifice and drink a few more bottles of wine.  You know for the greater good.

There is a vendor that comes to the Flea Market and she sells this little plants in old tin cans.  Hers are 30 smackeroos.  New can of tomatoes + new plant at WallyWorld = my $5 version.

Then the Hubster and I slipped off to our new little paradise.
Yes my dear friends that is the un-zoomed view off the balcony at our new condo.
Oh mercy, I'm just tickled to pieces with that view.

In case you wondered, yes, we do rent it out.  Just see the tab on the home page Fun In The Sun, Sand & Surf for more photos and details.

I just completely and accidentally happened upon these are the basis for decorating the master bedroom.
Fell in love with the quilt but needed to do something with palm trees because so much of that is already there so we ended up with Flamingo's and Palm Trees with that bright fun bedding.  I can't wait to get down there and start painting.  Although I'm not sure what color I'm painting. Any suggestions?

We have about eighty bazillion sunset pictures.  Hubster went out every single night and took some.
By the way, the sun was setting at 4:46.

This is the "official" beach breakfast sandwich.   Hash browns, scrambled eggs and canadian bacon on an English muffin.  Oh so yummy.

Apparently Buddy the Elf was staying at my house while we were gone too.

And last but certainly not least, this is what we did last night.
We Christmas shopped for our little "adopted" Christmas child.
I hope she loves it as much as we loved getting stuff to spoil her with!!!

And seriously, are these not the cutest things ever??!!!
I mean those are teeny tiny little pink leopard Sperry's and little pink Chuck's!!!
It's probably a good thing we don't have a little girl living with us.

So there you have it, about 2 weeks wrapped up about as quick as I could get it.
I have cooked dinner more than a few times.  NO really I have!!!!   I pinky swear promise.  I just forgot to take pictures.   Anyway, I'm gonna run and chat with that handsome son of mine who surprised me when he came home today.  I wasn't expecting him until tomorrow.  Happy happy Mom here.
Plus we have to wrap all those presents too!

What've you been up to??

Peace, Love & Tumblings

A Wacky Wednesday

Hey there my peeps!!!

It's been busy busy busy already this week but I decided to drop in and give you a tiny glimpse of what's been happening!!

I've done a little decorating
The kitchen table

The mantle

An owl kicked the bird out and moved into the cage for fall

The dining room table

I baked some pumpkin muffins for a friend.

Also put together a Taco Box Dinner Kit for that friend and her family.
We love you Susie Q and I know your wonderful Daddy is in heaven watching over you now!

Found a frog in my bathtub
(the last time it was a penguin-yes, we are a little odd around here)

Returned to my childhood in snack form.
(peanut butter on saltines- oh yeah baby)

Went to a wedding and had an awesome time.
Ms. Melissa on the left, her daughter got married.
Loretta and I just celebrated with them!!

Probably the thing that's taken up most of my time the past 2 weeks is that we "sold" this view.
(BTW--this is a zoomed cropped view)

For this view!!  This is NOT zoomed or cropped.  The blue tint is on behalf of the sliding glass doors.

Yessireeeee Bob!!!  We sold our lovely little 2 bedroom condo and bought a 3 bedroom right smack front of the building with a direct gulf view!    I've never been so excited and terrified in my life.
Now I'm ready to get down there and look at that ocean and hear those waves and spruce the place up.

But for now, it's chaos as usual around here so let's wrap up the weekend.

This past weekend was Sibling Day at Baylor.
So we saw the bears, they were sleeping.
Then we went to the bookstore and bought tshirts and hoodies and such necessities when visiting your kid at school.    Then it was football time.

My two are just above the Canes chicken signs.
(poor tiny Mere had to spend the whole game being surrounded by screaming college boys)
wait...did I just say "poor Mere"???  Silly me, I should have said LUCKY Mere.
Man when I was 17 I would have given anything to have a big brother in college and go to a football game with him and his friends.   Lucky Mere indeed!!!

It was a packed house at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco.

Until most all the students rushed the field because of this

Yep our "never give up" Baylor Bears defeated the previously unbeaten #1 team of Kansas State.
With the unbelievable score of 52 to 24.
Yep it was an incredible game!!!

The thing that's bothered me the most is all the people CRITICIZING Baylor for winning.
No seriously, blaming Baylor for keeping a Big 12 team out of the BCS championship....yeah because the other teams would have let KSU win too!!!  NOT!!!!!!
Get over it people, the little engine that could climbed a mountain they never thought they could.

In the end, this girl had a good visit at Baylor with her big brother.
He enjoyed every minute of sharing it with her.
We went back to the hotel to sleep...he got to wallow in the victory with his friends.
I must be old because I think I got the better end of that deal.

And now we are at today, Wednesday, Thanksgiving Eve so I felt it only appropriate to do this little Pinterest inspired food/craft.

Get some donut holes
(Dear WallyWorld, Donut Holes are supposed to be round.  Just thought I should clear that up for you because obviously your bakery staff misunderstood the words donut holes.  Love, Samma  )

Picked the "sticks" out of the snack mix because I had no pretzels.

Got some chocolate sprinkles

Warmed up a bit of cake frosting

And made acorns!!!

Donut "hole" acorns.   Cute indeed.

And then got bored with making acorns and just dipped the holes into the frosting and put
colorful sprinkles on top!!

You know, cause they're pretty and fun....and yummy!

And like I said on Instagram, a plate of leftover sprinkles in the morning is an indication of a great day!

I'm gonna try to keep you updated on Thanksgiving goodies around here but you know, we have decided to Black Friday shop as a family this year and we're plotting out our stops and gifts and then the BIL and the Hubster are going to try and put the lights up outside on Sunday.   I'm having my carpets cleaned on Monday so my decorating will have to wait a bit longer.   (Isn't this the most riveting bit of information you've heard in the last few days that didn't involve Lindsey Lohan, General Patreus, or vampires??!!!)   What I'm trying to say is that I'm going to enjoy my family and relish my sleep whenever I can get it.   We are a very blessed family, we've done nothing to deserve the wonderful blessings in our life but I assure you I'm ever so grateful for each one and NEVER take them for granted.   This Thanksgiving hug your family, forgive someone and let some bitterness go.
I promise if you do that, this will be a Thanksgiving to remember!

Peace, Love & Thanksgiving Blessings!!!
