Tuesday Tumblings- october something or another

Well Well Well and my goodness sakes alive!!   I didn't mean to run away and forget you it's just been a VERY busy couple of weeks around here.  (This is the part where I should insert fair warning regarding the length of this post and the number of photos)

Let's see if we can go way way back into our memories from October 2nd when I last updated you on the never ending thrill saga that is my life.  (As Sheldon would say was *that* sarcasm??)  And no, these things are not chronologically listed. Why? you ask?  Well because when I upload all my phone & instagram pics to my laptop it doesn't keep them in the correct dates and I'm too lazy to rearrange.
Hey, just keeping it real my friends.

I think it was the Tuesday we got back from vacay that I made Chicken Tortilla Soup.
These were the toppings.

It's The Pioneer Woman's recipe.  Quite frankly I see no reason to make any other recipe, it's THAT good.  Go here and see for yourself.

I pre-ordered a King Cake for the Hubsters 50th birthday party coming up.
New girl on the phone got confused sent it a few weeks early.
Surprise ruined but we got an extra king cake.

Take a bag of these

And mix it with these

And you get Halloween Crack.
No lie you CANNOT stop eating it!!
It's a mandatory car snack for the Parents Gone Wild Trip to Florida each year.
(no worries, we are getting to that too)

Dear merciful heavens I FINALLY got a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
It was in our hotel in New Orleans.
I feel complete now.

Sunset on the beach one evening.
Hubster and I walked to dinner while the others drove.
Sorry they missed this and all the dolphins playing in the water.

This is a Crawfish Po'Boy.
I got it here.  If you are driving from Texas to Florida you should stop and eat.
You will NOT be sorry.

At some point in the last few weeks I broke out the Babycakes machine and made pumpkin muffins.
I think the world rotated back to its correct axis.

This is whole Parents Gone Wild group having dinner at AJ's in Destin.
Don't we look like the rowdy crew??

Hubster purchased a new game for the beach.
Bocce ball.  It was a HUGE hit, we made lots of new friends.
My husband also learned that playing corn hole doesn't mean something dirty.

This was the sunrise as we were heading out of the Destin Harbor on our fishing trip.
Gorgeous....it MIGHT have been worth getting up that early for.

This is Hubster.  We were bait fishing. He was covered in blood.
No one can explain it.

These are my girls.  We had a blast out fishing.
Better yet, no one got sea sick.
(those lovely belts are pole holders--many many jokes were made)

Here we are with our catch (that we could legally keep)
We were only out for 4 hours and believe it or not that fish fed us all dinner two different nights and each of the three couples brought home about 20 filet's each.   It was a LOT of fish.

I also highly recommend this boat...those guys were AWESOMESAUCE!

I licked a fish and I liked it.
No really, I'm not sure how this came about but I licked it.  It tasted like nothing.
Very unexciting but I did it twice because you know the Hubster didn't get a picture the first time.

This was Mr. Biology.  He shows up at the beach a few times a week and gives the kids (big and small) a lesson on The Living Beach.  Really great guy, as it should come as no surprise that Hubster chatted with him forever.

We're just relaxing and reading.   I'm especially happy because my old Kindle just up and died mid book and mid trip but Amazon got me another before the week was over.  whew....crisis averted
No really I was about 3/4 of the way through Gone Girl and I was dying!!!
I managed to finish two books on vacation and started a third.  God bless Amazon and the Kindle.

Is there a way to ever tire of this view???
I think not!

Jumping backwards in time....I have small over packing and decision making issues.
Surely I'm not alone.
On a side note are my new yellow chucks not the bomb diggity bomb bomb??!!
They are especially awesome with my purple batman tshirt.

These are oysters. I love oysters.
My very raw and swollen throat did not love the crackers but we powered through.

And we're all back inside the Condo Cruiser making our way from NOLA to Ft Walton Beach.
I also have no clue who let my husband have an energy drink?!!!  They really know better.

Lordy this was a welcome site!
We FINALLY made it to Florida and we got to potty and got OJ to drink.
Can't beat that now can you?

First morning view off the balcony.
Gosh I've missed this place.

HelenBack pizza.  I'm sure God himself put this place across the street for my personal enjoyment.
I swear the pizza there makes me swoon.

uh Houston....we have a problem.
See that lady and the man on the very far left? Godsends I tell ya!
Thank the Lord for kind people who will help out complete strangers.
That caused about a 3 1/2 hour delay getting home.

This is my sweet Lilli.
She loves the windows open so she can salivate watching the birds outside.

This is the worst thing about vacation. LAUNDRY
I think it took me two days to get caught up.

At some point in the last few weeks I had a "healthy" frito pie.
That was Amy's organic chili I used so it's healthy..right???
Everyone shake your head yes now.

We had a plethora of veggies to be retrieved from the garden after being gone a week.

I went to Sam's and bought and 80 pack of these for my Keurig.
They might last a month.  What can I say I love me some pumpkin.

I also found this cutie at Sam's.  It's an herb teapot.
There's peppermint, lavender and chamomile.

This was a good day...two mugs of Pumpkin Spice coffee and pumpkin muffins!!
God Bless America!!!

These are my pre-op med instructions on the bathroom mirror.
We also had the post op pain med times on there afterwards.
Or at least I'm told....I had surgery at 1:00 on Thursday, I woke up on Saturday.
You would have to ask the Hubster what happened around here during that time.
I was in a pain killer/phenergan induced sleep coma.

I had this on Sunday night....3 days post op deserves a cold beer.
I'm pitiful I know.

In other equally fascinating news.....We sold our beach condo.
Yeah, we did. Five days after it went on the market actually.
We have an offer in on another condo but so far what we are willing to pay and what they are willing to sell are not quite the same.   We've kinda reach a stall in the negotiations.   We're giving them a few days to miss us and then we'll try again.  I mean really the thing has been on the market for 2 years now!!   Other than that I'm just doing nothing.  Nope really doing nothing.  I wasn't a very good patient the last time I had this surgery and I have to be a good girl this time so I'm pretty much banned to a lazy existence for a couple of weeks.   Scarring is an ugly thing my friends!

In the meantime I also managed to get a nasty butt case of Allergic Bronchitis and it has caused an insatiable appetite for these.

It's sad really, I had myself pretty much weaned off diet drinks.  But for some reason these seem to make my throat feel better and cut the icky stuff running down the back of my throat so I'm up to about 3 a day of these now.  Withdrawals will not be easy my friends.

Well if you are still awake and managed to make it to the end of this post then CONGRATULATIONS!!!  I wish I had a prize to give you because you certainly deserve one.
Thanks for staying with me and maybe I'll see if I can do a little cooking this week.  You can't ever tell though because I'm still recuperating.

Peace, Love & Yummies!!!!
