Down & Grout

Weellllll Hello and Happy Hump Day!

My mood is significantly improved but I still don't have a washer and dryer.  I'm holding out hope we can stretch the undies until they install it.  ðŸ˜…  If they don't appear to install tomorrow, I guess I'll cave and go on Friday to the dastardly laundromat.  I totally forgot to ask this morning because we were chatting about other exciting things.

Update #1 is the floors have been grouted and the backsplash and Reggie's station.  Yeehaw! The plumber was here and fixed the cup wash, and finished out the lines for the sink, dishwasher, and ice maker.  Double-checked the lines for the propane for the range and repaired the leaky valves on the washer and dryer.  Yeehaw Yeehaw!!

Floors in the den.  Hubster is no longer in a plastic bubble going up to his office!

The pantry is all finished, and ready for paint.

Sink side of the island.  See how much the grout lightened up after it dried.

Full view of the den and it looks like you can see the parts on the far left that were still a bit wet when I took the picture.

The dry bar area floor is all done and the molding is ready for paint.

Reggie's Subway Shop is ready for bowl cutouts to be made.
Hubster and I think it looks just like an old Subway store.

I'm thinking there will be a vinyl decal on the tile with Reggie's name at some point.

The backsplash is done as well!

I went with a really dark charcoal almost black grout so that it fades into the background.

Looking into the kitchen from the den and all is good!

My little coffee area is already getting used for filling the dog bowl every morning before the workers arrive.

They taped off the area around the hood vent earlier today so they could start painting it.

That laundry room is calling for the washer and dryer in the garage.  Time to come home fellas!

Looking into the entry area of the garage.

And DRUMROLL, Please........

Does thoust seest what is in thy cup?

Ice, Ice, BABY!!!  Yep, Little Leo got my ice machine hooked up and working today and I'm enjoying my cucumber water with ICE!!   ahhhhh, my faith in the process is restored!

Speaking of Cucumber Water, let's just segue into the next topic.

Every year that I have a successful cucumber crop, and sadly that is not every year, we always have those little buggers that hide and I don't see them until they are really big.  Now really big cucumbers can get bitter and very seed filled so we usually just let ReggieRoni eat them.  Yes, my crazy dog loves cucumbers and asparagus and green beans and tomatoes....but I digress.

Grab yourself a pitcher and dump in some freshly washed mint leaves.

Slice that skin off the cucumber and cut it into chunks or slices, your preference.

Fill it up with water and pop it in the refrigerator to get all good and chilly.

Barge through the workers to get to the ice machine and run grab yourself a glass of cool, yummy goodness.

*Barging through workers is not required for this amazing recipe to work. 😆

Stand in your garage and chug a lug a big glass and then refill it and kindly walk all the way around to the front of the house to go back inside.   Barging through the workers is only allowed to get the ice.

Now in the dinner news updates:
Monday evening we went with the neighbors to good ole' Outback Steakhouse.  We have a new one near us and we all were pretty sure it was the late 90's or early 2000's since any of us had eaten at Outback.  No matter because dinner was in fact delicious.

Last night the same friends invited us over for dinner and we had Fajitas.  They were quite delicious and we even enjoyed some little bundt cakes from Nothin' Bundt Cakes.

Tonight we are going over to our little local pizza place for music bingo and trivia.  It's the first night for this so we're hopeful it goes well for Tony.   Plus, your home girl here gets pizza and you know that makes me extensively happy.

Let's move on to gratitude because my water glass needs refilling.

1) Ice- Do NOT laugh, you go without it for 8 weeks and you'll understand my joy
2) A garden that gives me gifts even when I neglect it
3) Trip planning - more on that later
4) Workers who care and show up to do their jobs and do it well
5) Pool season - my favorite time of the year.

Peace, Love, & Ice
